How to learn UNITEN Research Methodology
Research methodology is a systematic way to solve a problem. It is a science of studying how research is to be carried out. Essentially, the procedures by which researchers go about their work of describing, explaining and predicting phenomena are called research methodology.
Research Problem is any question that needs to be answered and any assumption or assertion that needs to be challenged or investigated. However, it is important to remember that not all questions can be transformed into research problem and some may prove to be extremely difficult to be studied.
A literature review has an organizational pattern and combines both summary and synthesis, often within specific conceptual categories.
Research Design is defined as a framework of methods and techniques chosen by a researcher to combine various components of research in a reasonably logical manner so that the research problem is efficiently handled.
Quantitative research is implemented in cases where it is important for a researcher to have statistical conclusions to collect actionable insights. Numbers provide a better perspective to make important business decisions.
Qualitative research is a scientific method of observation to gather non-numerical data. This type of research refers to the meanings, concepts definitions, characteristics, metaphors, symbols, and description of things" and not to their "counts or measures". This research answers why and how a certain phenomenon may occur rather than how often.
Information literacy includes the ability to identify, find, evaluate, and use information effectively. From effective search strategies to evaluation techniques, students learn how to evaluate the quality, credibility, and validity of websites, and give proper credit.
The goal of a research proposal is to present and justify the needs to study a research problem and to present the practical ways in which the proposed study should be conducted.
